Welcome to the Scissortail Honor Orchestra. We are committed to providing an exceptional orchestral experience for the most talented string players in the region. Our mission is to inspire, challenge, and support young musicians to reach their full potential both onstage and in everyday life. Our two orchestras - one for middle school and one for high school - offer

unparalleled opportunities to perform, grow, and connect with peers who share your passion for music. ​

Audition Guidelines

Please ensure your students prepare a 2 octave scale (of their choice) and the attached excerpts for their instrument and grade level

Eligibility

All string students (public, private, and homeschooled) are eligible to audition. Middle School Orchestra is 6-8, High School is 9-12

 

Clinic Information:

Date - November 2025

Location - University of Oklahoma Catlett School of Music

Cost to Audition - There is no fee to audition.

Clinic Fee - A $30 clinic fee is required for participation in the clinic.

(Fee covers all-day instruction, a commemorative t-shirt, lunch and snack for all participants.)

 

Students will be conducted by University of Oklahoma staff.
